I had a similar scale that was designed for jewelry and did not have 'liquid-proofing' plastic covering over the buttons before. This new scale seems to have the same simple 'operating system' and button layout as my previous one, with the added benefit of being slightly larger, and having the all-important plastic covering over the buttons so there's no way liquid can get between button and chassis. As I primarily use mine to make cocktails on, this was KEY. I should have bought something like this in the first place. Highly recommended, and at a great price too.
