If it gets under the clip it works, but it's thick.
This works well with clips lying on a flat surface and you don't have to worry about the tool marking them. If there is a recess holding the clip, they won't work. Even if it's a bottleneck. But other than that they work great and I've even used them for weird packaging for household items. Even if you use it once or twice a year, the price is definitely worth it.
