This is sooooo incredibly cute! It's not mushy at all. My dog walked around in it for a few minutes (he HATES stuff on his head) and then yanked it off with his paw but it didn't hurt him in any way and he didn't bang on his head. I like that I can use it with different numbers every year. My only issue is that I had to use masking tape to stick the number on. I don't know if it's supposed to peel off on the back of the numbers but I couldn't and it didn't come with a sticker but it was definitely worth the money.
