This bag is perfect for afternoon walks with my boys to the playground or anywhere. I was tired of lugging my purse with all the water bottles for an outing, along with the ppe, snacks, a small sketch pad, and whatever randomness the boys brought but somehow offloaded onto me at some point in our walk on top of my own sundry purse items. My shoulder was going to fall off!With this bag, I can ready it for short walks, without all my added purse weight. The bag is light weight and can be worn cross-body, like a messenger bag. Instead of a 6x4 inch sketch pad, I can fit a full 9x12 (actually it is 9x13.25 inches) spiral bound one, sideways. I can carry 4 zojirushi thermoses, as well. The seam allowances all seem to be a generous half-inch, and the side seams are reenforced, so it should hold the weight. The fabric is like painter's canvas or like sails for boats. It feels like very sturdy cotton denim. I haven't tried it yet, but it should be machine washable. (Not sure if it will shrink or not be colorfast. Maybe wash it by itself and hang to dry.) This means I can set it in the mulch and goof around on the playground too.The walnut color is beautiful. It is that earthy putty-toasted pink that is super popular right now. This will go with everything autumn or neutral. (Not so great with jewel tones or holiday colors.) I want more in a few more colors! It doesn't look like a reusable grocery bag because the color is more sophisticated, and the fabric is more substancial. Also, the style is great for anyone. I will seam rip the stitches and get rid of the tag. I think I will buy a few more for my artist nieces, my sons, and a few friends. These bags will easily accept artwork on the fabric, pins, dye, paint. I can't wait to see how all the preteens personalize these! These might be pricey at $10 each for goodie bags for at a party, but I still think it would be a great idea too. Well, if we are all able to come together again for birthday parties. Dang Covid.I will get a lot of use out of this bag!
