We have been using the shoes with our Akita for more than 2 years as we have had many foot problems as we got older. Other brands' shoes start falling apart within 2-3 weeks, while ours may take 5-6 weeks. I'm ordering my second pair of these 5 ½ months later! b/c that's how long they lasted. To be fair the shoes aren't falling apart, she rubbed the sole of one shoe as she shuffled one of her hind legs. She developed tender/calloused areas under her claws. We compensate for this by leaving the lower Velcro a little loose and tightening the upper one.
