Ordinary lock. I personally wouldn't use it as the only bike lock. I also have a standard Kryptonite Series 2 wired lock so this was just an extra precaution. This lock is much stronger and has a cable that deters thieves. I recommend this lock instead. Pros: Cheap Looks solid Requires extra effort to open Cons: Difficult to unlock Sometimes key gets stuck Key moves too much Doesn't feel very strong compared to other kryptonite locks Overall this is a great inexpensive secondary lock that deters thieves. I wouldn't buy it alone though. Instead, get a standard Series 2 lock (or similar) first and buy this on top for extra security, especially if you have an expensive bike.
