Review on Kensington Guardian Premium Surge Protector: 6 Outlet, 15-Foot Cord, 540 Joules – Ultimate Power Protection by Eddie Gordon

LOVE THIS SOCKET!

I didn't even know there were extension cords with cords that long! We just moved to a new house but it's an old house hahaha. There are very few outlets in the house and they are in a terrible location. We were constantly running out of outlets for our devices and needed to improve access to outlets for our devices. We already had outlet multipliers (I'm not sure what they're really called) when you plug an extension cord into an outlet, so now you have 6 outlets instead of the original 2. But they caused constant blackouts in the house, and we had to go to the fuse box and turn the fuses off and on several times a day. This was a SUPER headache because my husband and I both work from home and need a reliable internet connection to get our jobs done! Also, these outlet multipliers didn't solve the problem of poor outlet placement. We still needed better access to our outlets because trying to plug in a computer, TV, phones, and tablets behind our bed just didn't work. So I decided to check out Revain (my go-to place for pretty much everything in life haha) and see if they have extension cords with really long cords. I really didn't think I would find anything because I had never seen or heard of anything like it. And they really shouldn't be too popular because there weren't very many of them that I could find. But then I saw this Kensington. And Kensington is a brand I know and trust, so I was dying to try it. I liked that it came with surge protection because while I have absolutely NO UNDERSTANDING of what surge protection is, it SOUNDS like it's exactly what we need to avoid a power outage every time we try to plug in multiple devices to prevent. Lo and behold, the electricity hasn't been turned off since! We bought two of these, one for our bedroom and one for our kids room, and both come with devices that run most if not all day. In our bedroom, we have a big-screen TV, our desktop computer, a mini-fridge, and a humidifier, all of which are almost always open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We then also regularly plug our phones and laptops into the remaining outlets on the Strip when we need them for charging. Our daughters room also has a big screen TV, a Roku device, a humidifier and a fan that usually runs 24/7. They then plug in their tablet for charging whenever it needs charging too. So all in all, both strips run at full load almost all day every day and we haven't had a single power failure since the purchase. Oh! Again, this may seem small and insignificant to others, but it's SUPER important to us...the fact that the outputs on the strip are all 3-pin and all point up and down, not sideways. ALL other extensions (regular length, non-Kensingtons) have the individual sockets on the strip facing each other: They look like this =-But on these Kensingtons the sockets face up and down like this.' This means that all of our chargers simultaneously can be placed next to each other on the bar. Even the very long and bulky chargers (you know, the ones that usually cover both sockets in a standard wall socket - like most hair dryers for example) can fit side by side. With our other extenders, sometimes we can't use all ports because one of our chargers is long and covers the next port on the extender. It's random, but it's very important to us! My husband is willing to buy another one for the living room so we have better access to the hookup for everything than behind the sofa! We love these splitters and are thrilled that Kensington has been making splitters for so long! Great quality and great length! We absolutely recommend this product to everyone who is looking for it!
