06/10/21. To update. Acer support sucks. I went to their website and put in my serial number and they said they weren't recognised. Tried a few times. Follow the steps to register your computer and then try activating your warranty. I don't care how good their warranty service is, I'm still frustrated, I guess they bought a cheap hard drive and that's why it failed. I opened up the computer and to be honest I can't even identify the hard drive, so I know a lot has changed over the last few years, but I need to figure out how to connect an old drive to a USB dock to insert it into my information and insert another disk. You will probably need to reinstall Windows. If the hard drive sucks, I have to decide whether to trust the power supply or something else. Maybe you're just starting out with a new machine from a top seller. At least I don't have to install Windows then. It's June 8th, I bought it in October. I've been using this computer for work for about 4 months, although I bought it 6 months ago. Today it refused to boot, couldn't see the boot device. I've tried restarting it many times this morning but haven't started the actual troubleshooting work with parts extraction and such. But I'm very disappointed, I paid almost $700 for this computer and totally relied on it, paid for installing software that I'll probably have to pay for again, not to mention getting another computer for mine had to set up work. I am shocked this computer is dead. I'm sure I can buy an old, used, refurbished computer that will last 50 years for a bargain price of $200. But this computer died before it even worked 6 months. You must now find out about Acer support for your product. If everything is ok, I can change the rating. So far I'm giving 3 stars for tech support as I haven't even called them yet. But to be honest, I don't even want to call her. The moral of the story for me is this: I never plan on buying another Acer computer again, almost no matter what happens when I call Acer for support. I will probably buy Dell or HP. My backup computer that I switched to is HP.
