All the good stuff first. Not sure there is a better espresso machine for the money. For just over $100, getting a machine that takes consistent shots isn't easy. Add to that the fact that it's incredibly easy to assemble and clean up, and you have something that has quickly become a part of my morning routine. However, there are a few small changes I'd like to make to the Flair. First, a pressure basket is not the best option. I understand the addendum. It will be very difficult for people without a proper grinder to build up the pressure needed for a real espresso. The pressurized basket helps mimic espresso with a coarser coffee grind. Unfortunately, this also puts limits on how good any Neo recording can be. They're consistent, yes, but consistently more diluted and weaker than you'd expect from a shot of espresso. I don't think I would drink straight out of Flair Neo. I also find the whole device to be a little unstable, which is unnerving for a device you're actively using to make coffee. Finally, I think a real tamper would be a nice addition, even if it costs a little. The measuring trolley works in a pinch, but does not offer a very convincing user experience. With all that said, I think the Flair Neo will give you an unforgettable experience if you're looking for an entry-level espresso machine, especially if you don't currently have a good coffee grinder. Be careful though, if you're anything like me this will make you look for updates to improve your (initially) cheap espresso setup :)
