Review on πŸ’₯ CyberPower CSP300WUR1: Powerful Professional Surge Protector with 3 Outlets and 2 USB Charge Ports by Bishnu Bush

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Closely spaced protected outlets plus USB ports (4 stars)

This fairly large surge protector takes up the space of the entire outlet, but it can add one to the outlet -- meaning it has three three-pronged outlets instead of two that it closes - this is only possible if the three plugs are small. Nevertheless, it fits perfectly. The problem is that most electronic devices that you want to protect will have large three-pronged plugs; In this case, this device does not extend the existing wall socket at all. However, I bought it for wall surge protection and it seems to work as advertised. We've had a few power outages over the past few days due to thunderstorms and nothing was plugged into an outlet. Of course, you don't really know if a surge protector works, only when it doesn't. In addition to power outlets, there are two 2.1A USB ports for charging devices such as cell phones and tablets. So it expands your socket by two more because you don't have to use a separate wall adapter. Ports on mine work as expected. The unit has an extra anchor bolt that can be used in place of the bottom drain cover bolt if you insert it into the bottom drain. It also has a piece of plastic sticking out from the back that fits into the third hole of the bottom outlet when you insert it into the top outlet. I removed the screw - it's a long screw and it took a while - and instead used a plastic socket to attach it and cover it flush with the socket cover. The design of this surge protector could be improved by making it 1/2 to 1 inch wider for better plug spacing and placing the USB ports over the jacks for easier access. However, the green light that indicates the device is working is currently over the sockets and needs to be repositioned as well. Despite these design flaws, it's still a lot better than a giant surge protector sitting in a spot on the floor that doesn't need multiple protected outlets. – Debbie Lee Wesselman
