BROKEN IN MY OVEN - GLASS IN MY FOOD

Purchased after reading positive reviews in January 2012. I've been using it for 4 months and I've used it probably 10 times. To date it has worked as advertised. Last Sunday I was cooking a large roast pork and heard a loud bang from the oven about 20 minutes before the roast was supposed to be done. I opened the door and noticed the meat thermometer had crashed in my oven roast. Glass was everywhere. On my roast, in the pan, on the floor of my oven. I was so disappointed in the product. First, it ruined my $15 dinner. Second, a meat thermometer must be designed and tested to function under the conditions encountered in an oven. Not functioning properly is one thing; Breaking the glass in the oven is another matter. DO NOT BUY this product. I was even more disappointed when I couldn't return the product so I decided to write this review so others don't lose their money on an UNSAFE product.
