I'm an airline pilot and needed a reliable headset. I've tried them before now when I flew small planes and liked them at the time, but I had a pair of David Clarks. I know DC makes noise canceling models and I know that some others here have commented on them. But just from my personal experience, you get what you pay for with these Bose headsets. I've been flying my standard DCs for a few months, but with passengers and ground crew getting on and off the plane and you're trying to get ATIS and a clearance or talk to the ramp, whatever, the noise can get in the way . With noise cancellation, it really clears everything up. If we're flying to Mexico and you're having a hard time understanding the controls, this headset breaks down the communication barrier so much that you don't have to keep saying "huh?"... Thing is, I turned down the $1,100 because you get what you pay for. Professional headset for commercial pilots. I hope this review helps some people who have doubts about the decision.
