I have used a Sennheiser HD 580 with a Yamaha digital piano (P80) for decades, an absolutely amazing combination. I just tried the HD 559, thinking that any open-back headphones from Sennheiser would probably be great. No! The bass half of my piano sounds like it's packed in cotton wool - not at all like any acoustic or digital piano I've ever played. Maybe they could make the music sound good for some people. But as far as bass fidelity goes, they're really, really bad. My Apple headphones sound better (in bass) than these headphones. In short, if you want your digital piano to sound like a real piano, look elsewhere. (I find them very comfortable, by the way.)
