Artisan distiller Beware. I bought three of these for each of the stoves I will be producing alcohol on and all three sank to the bottom of the cylinder. I was expecting 75-95% to do just that at a lower proof, but when I immediately set it to 180 proof it dropped again. However, the cheap $15 model you buy at your local craft beer store worked just fine. However, as an artisanal distiller, TTB does not recognize cheap hydrometers that must be certified and traceable. It won't work, so I can't rely on them to adjust the evidence, measure the evidence, and locate the evidence in my monthly report. I'm glad I bought them through Revain as the return process was easy. However if I were Revain I would stop selling them as they ship to and from me. This is not good for business as Revain is reluctant to buy three hydrometers.
