Bought this for my 90 lb doberman first and it was perfect. So I later bought it for my 100 lb Doberman. He had a wide, deep chest, so finding a jacket to match was difficult. The XL worked great for him and lasted forever and we are still using a previously purchased jacket. Bought again for daughter's 12 lb Maltese mix and she loved it. Now he has a new mastiff puppy so I bought him a medium and he was able to comfortably walk through a snow storm in Texas to go potty outside. He outgrew it at 15 weeks and weighs over 40lbs so I'm going to buy him a big one now. The chest is open but none of my dogs have been paying attention to it. Ideal for thick-chested dogs. Definitely recommend. Lasts forever. Flannel lining that is very comfortable.
