Review on SainSmart PRO-3 Tangle-Free Premium 1-inch by Fisseha Rodgers

I am very happy with this purchase. As some of the other reviews say, the clear plastic lets me see how much filament is left. The tangle-free design reduces the chance of bad prints, reducing wasted time and filament, and most importantly, less frustration. Some reviews mention that the thread gauge is more consistent. It seems so when I look at it alongside a few other brands and an old Sandisk thread, but I'm not entirely sure if it's just because it rolls better. My human eyesight can't tell a 0.05mm difference lol. I agree with other reviews that while good rolling is a plus, it doesn't necessarily justify the extra cost. As after a few failed prints early on, I now know how to adjust the filament to minimize the chances of failure due to tangles. Another plus, which I personally think is more important and a little surprised I haven't seen it in other reviews, is that the look of the prints is a bit different. It's a little whiter, a little shiny, and more like ABS (what Lego is made of) than PLA. One of the photos shows two prints side by side, although my poor lighting doesn't show the difference very well (they should probably be facing the same direction lol). I've tried printing with ABS, but it warps and cracks easily as it shrinks on cooling, making it difficult to get a good print without a camera. This difference isn't particularly important in my test prints (iPad stand), but would be appreciated in some other, more artistic projects. By combining these two features, I think it justifies the "premium" in the title and a few extra bucks.
