KabelDirekt (15 feet) Optical TOSLINK Digital Audio Cable - PRO SeriesI purchased this cable for a home project involving the mounting of a new TV to a wall that I "remodeled" to allow for the wall mounting of the TV. I am running HDMI and TOSlink cables in the wall to connect to the TV and soundbar respectively. I wanted cables that were solid enuff to handle being run inside closed walls and that could be gently "tugged on" as needed to adjust the lengths that protrude from the wall. This TOSLINK cable fit the bill based on its description and from other reviewers. When it arrived, I was NOT disappointed. Its got a nice weight to it and the ends of the cable are both attractive and functional. ATTRACTIVE is not really a necessary trait for cables like this, especially when they are mostly behind a wall or behind an audio component or source device. But look at the ends. they sure are pretty! The gold plated connectors are just a gimmick. they really serve no purpose that aluminum or some other non corroding/rusting/tarnishing metal could serve. These cables conduct LIGHT signals not electrical signals. therefore, metal is not a factor in the signal transmission. keep this in mind whether you buy these or ANY TOS link cables.Never the less. these are very high quality cables and serve their purpose well. At 15 ft. I have no audio quality issues. I have not experienced any issues with the ends of this cable falling out of the soundbar or the cable TV box it is connected to. Some have said that the cables don't fit tightly or in other cases are too tight. I have neither of these issues. In my case, one end is connected to a Vizio sb3830-c6m soundbar. The other end is connected to an AT&T Uverse VIP2500 wireless receiver (portable receiver) box.At this price, try it and if it doesn't work, send it back as defective.NOTE - when running cables behind your closed walls, its ok to run low or no voltage wires (like this TOS cable or HDMI cables or speaker wires. ) behind closed walls. YOU CANNOT DO THAT with 110/120/220/240 electrical cords attached to your electrical appliances. its against electrical code. Have a fire. your insurance company can claim it was the fault of running non approved electrical wiring behind your walls. If you need electricity in a new spot, well, sorry - you need to run approved wiring behind the wall to add a new outlet. Romex 14 gauge 2 wire (one ground, one black, one white. yes. that's "3" but ground doesn't count :-) ) is what you need. And if you need to run wiring thru a fireblock beam, code says you need to fill that hole back up with approved fire rated fireblock caulk. Again. play with the electrical code and risk insurance issues if a fire occurs.Enjoy your cable!
