So far so good. I was able to configure this router in Access Point mode and disable DHCP services. That way I can keep my cable modem and router in the basement where I have cable access and ethernet cable access and just run this AP on the end of one of the ethernet ports without introducing additional cables or another NAT subnet. To be honest this setup was a bit tricky to get right, but once I learned the jargon (this isn't an example of Bridge mode for example) the setup was very easy. But the thing is, this router is pretty customizable. Our previous WiFi device required an extension cord and because this device is centrally located, we have adequate range and coverage throughout the house.
