Review on Convenience Concepts 8043391DFTW Bookshelf Driftwood by Steve French

worth the money fits bookshelves

Based on some reviews I was a bit worried it wouldn't be very reliable. I'm usually scared of buying things like this online because you can't see the quality. It has become a very solid piece. I'm an engineer by trade so the Ikea instructions don't bother me either, but I was happy that the assembly instructions are very good and easy to follow. I assembled the shelf in about half an hour. Comments about glue are appropriate - it seems that they really are not enough. Granted I added too much to some of the holes and had to wipe them off, but I squeaked enough to finish the job. The wall anchors that came with them are rubbish and I used some of the better ones I had in my toolbox. This shelf really needs to be attached to the wall. It leans forward well, but mounting it on the wall gave it some much-needed extra support. For the money I am happy with the purchase and it definitely looks better than the $65 price tag. I won't put anything heavy on the shelves, so I'm not worried about the stability of the shelves. Knowing how they are attached I wouldn't use them for many heavy books. I took off a star because this problem is easily solved by the company if they add 2 small pieces for extra support on large shelves. But honestly, if you're looking for something cute and cheap (like a $100+ bookshelf) to put your knick-knacks on, this is 5 stars.
