look elsewhere Intel's Hedt line is a waste of time.

I was looking for extra PCI lanes to take full advantage of my RAID NVMe SSDs. I found out that in order to get SSDs in raid I need a raid key which can't be bought anymore. This may have only been an issue with evga boards, but the story doesn't end there. Let's start with the fact that this thing is incredibly powerful. In stock, this thing draws about 185 watts. When trying to overclock I couldn't go above 4.6 on all cores due to the inability to control temperature. This was on a Corsair H150i RGB Pro. Even overclocked, the performance was on par with the 9700k, the 3900x was inferior to it in almost everything. I noticed a huge jump in performance when I switched from the 3900x to this sad little processor. It wasn't subtle at all, I'm talking about 20 fps. I finally had enough of this line after 2 months and went down to 2700x. Even the guy who got it said it really wasn't worth comparing to other processors on the market at the time. I recommend checking out 3950x and 5950x when they become available. And for the curious, I had it paired with an rtx 2080ti.
