Best Dogs 6 Month Review

Overall: After installing 2 of these this door is head and shoulders above any other dog door I have ever used for the reasons listed below: Insulation - any door is double glazed, so to speak, with hollow cores. Sealing - Most doors only have magnets on the bottom edge; these wings are magnetically sealed on both sides as well as on the underside. t collar, nuts now thread into outer frame) Contents - Includes silicone sealant for tunnel seams, 303 vinyl sunscreen for wings, and jigsaw blade for metal. Nice gesture. When we live in the high desert we get hot days and cold nights - up to 60 degrees between day and night - and constant wind (saw 65mph gusts today). This is the only door that doesn't have a cold spot on the floor next to it. Closes well and doesn't bang. Is always. I didn't have to shut it down because of a storm in the middle of the night, I didn't have to build a kennel "tunnel" outside or do anything else to better insulate the house, nor did I have to replace any components. After 6 months of continuous use, it looks like new. Both doors I installed took about 8 hours to install, which is about the same as installing a dog door (at least for me). That includes re-routing the electrical wire running through the studs (and a trip to the big store for junction boxes, wires, and nuts). That being said, I'd definitely recommend a spike finder that includes a current detector like the Zircon i65 or the Zircon i520 so you don't run your saw through something you're not intending to. You will also need a sawmill. It's expensive but worth it.
