This meat thermometer can be a bit tricky right out of the box, but once installed it's easy. It starts with the "On" button but turns off automatically. Via the settings icon you can set the thermometer to read depending on the type of meat, e.g. B. turkey or steak, is automatically set to "ready". It washes well and is resistant to water problems after washing. It has great accuracy and seems to be an improvement over many meat thermometers I've used. It has great digital features, but you don't have to use those features if you don't want to use them.
