I bought this to have a clean ready to use when I change filters. On my third use of this particular item, I dropped the filter housing less than 3 feet into a bucket which I placed in an even larger container (I don't like making a mess and I have far too much respect for the destructive power of water leaks). It fell about half an inch into the water when I tried to unscrew it completely and it slipped out of my hands. Judging by the photo, the crack is almost circular. There is no way a PVC container this thick and heavy should shatter so catastrophically when dropped from a height of 3 feet into 2 plastic buckets. The warranty has already expired, otherwise I would have asked for a free replacement.
