The battery brought my 4000 toothbrush back to life. You only need to charge once a week or so. Only the connecting wires (flat metal) caused me some trouble, because they didn't like the solder at all. I ended up taking them off (one broke off voluntarily as they are electrically welded to the battery posts) and used the leads from the old battery and soldered them to the posts. The battery must have either a manufacture date or an expiration date. And adding a simple + and - sign for polarity might help. In any case, the investment was worth it!
