Fried Everything in Computer Components

I installed this power supply like many before it in my computer. This is a modular power supply so I replaced all my old cables with the new ones that come with it. I turned on my computer, it booted up for about 2 seconds and the entire computer shut down. Then I tried again, but this time it wouldn't even turn on. I checked that all my connections were good and correct, after which I assumed the worst. At that point I knew the PSU had definitely failed, but little did I know it had fried everything in my computer. I decided to replace the faulty power supply that I literally just ordered with my old one to see if it was just a power supply that wasn't providing enough power to my computer's components as the power supply was clearly faulty. To my horror, I found that the computer still wouldn't turn on, even after I replaced it with my old power supply. To be honest, I was disappointed in EVGA after all of this. Although I know it's not their fault it got pushed during delivery. I'm still frustrated that there isn't a replacement plan or anything for all the components that were burned by this faulty power supply because that's how it was shipped to me. *edit* Actually, I'm starting to think it was actually her fault. I looked at the box the PSU came in and found a 3 inch gap between the PSU box and the box it came in. Clearance to keep the PSU box from moving or squeezing as much upon delivery, but they didn't. If EVGA wants to avoid shipping damage, they should purchase a larger shipping box and use more packing material. Or, even better, a custom shipping box that actually matches the dimensions of the box the power supply came in.

Pros
  • Internal Power Supplies
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
