First of all I have to say that I am a fan of Sony products. I've always liked their features and price. I have several items including a home stereo, two digital cameras, a camcorder and a Sony home computer. So when I decided to buy an MP3 player, I naturally turned to Sony. Read reviews and went shopping. I chose this one because I had 1GB in reserve. I was very concerned by the reviews stating that Sony's proprietary software is complex and very difficult to use. Well, maybe I'm biased because I like Sony, but the software wasn't any harder than anything else. I downloaded the software, rebooted the system and within minutes I was downloading and listening to music. No problem, no hassle. Maybe it's because it's a Sony computer, but it was easy. Now I will not say that this is the best MP3 player. But if you are looking for good sound quality at a reasonable price. I highly recommend it. I would imagine 1GB would be just as good, just with more music. As far as that goes, 512MB is pretty good for storage. I don't quite have 345 songs as advertised (about 200), but most of the songs I have are over 3.5 minutes. Average of what they offer and I have 100MB of memory left. The battery lasts quite a long time as they say. The stopwatch did not reach and definitely did not recognize, but with a battery for a long time. The holding folder is a bit difficult to move to the right position with a single touch, but that's negligible for me. So overall I'm happy with the purchase, it's worth the money. If I had to do it again I might get 1GB just because it can hold more, but I'm still not sure I need everything. Enjoy!
