The gap is too small and needs pliers to open it to fit. It cannot be inserted until it reaches the bottom, which is its most stable position as it remains fixed. Unfortunately, this results in the tips of the guide pins being too far back. So the gap has to be adjusted to get the correct gap, but then it moves around the ceramic cone, tilts to one side and doesn't work properly. It also slides back easily if the torch head is pressed too hard against the metal being cut. So cut as if you were running a pen over metal and constantly check the gap. Adjusting the gap is inconvenient. However, the post holds up much better than the standard fine wire guide. It really needs to be made better to fit without the need for adjustment. I think it would be far better for me to just create my own opposition than to keep fighting them. I really wish I could just get the ceramic cone in place with the sculpted fingers as the ceramic material seems to be quite durable. However, this would require threading on a separate retaining ring rather than simply modifying existing molds.
