Definitely an improvement and significantly cheaper than alternatives. I was a little skeptical about this product but I came across a ton of reviews on the Amazon UK site that were pretty positive about it so I took a chance. I installed it in a south facing window, not outside, so keep that in mind when comparing the results. I could receive 33 channels. Basically able to use just 15ft of coax cable going to the same spot I installed this antenna. With the built-in antenna and amplifier, I was able to receive between 43 and 50 stations, depending on the day and the weather. I was also able to receive channels in neighboring states which was great. You'll probably get even better results if you mount it outside or on a camper van as intended, but I really wanted to try it just based on the price of all flat antennas. I just can't justify spending $50-80 on a sheet of plastic and coax cable. The kit includes all the mounting hardware you could want, an amplifier, and a nice long coax cable, all for about $35. I am very happy with the results.
