OK, answer some questions. In fact, this is a Marshal-branded disc. The hard drive is a pure USB drive, no hardware interface with standard sata connector. In the long run, this means that if or when the drive fails, most ordinary computer technicians won't be able to recover the data on the drive since it's not something they can throw into a docking station. Most new Seagate drives are like this, so it's not a bad thing. Just remember to back up your backups. Previously, writing 2TB of data to a drive via USB 2 took about 26 hours. At least that's the estimate on my old Mac. So far, so good. Overall this is a good setup and for the price it's a great deal.
