I missed my fancy standing desk in my office when my company forced us all to work from home due to the coronavirus. After the first month or two my back was killing me and I was looking for a cheap alternative. It's enough for my 15.5 inch laptop, mouse pad and coffee mug. It doesn't take up the entire surface of my actual desk, leaving room for a few other handy items, like a notepad. The raising and lowering mechanism is very simple, just squeeze the handle. You have to use some force to get it back down. One side of the legs doesn't really move, the other side has nice little wheels, won't scratch the table going up and down. I'm 5ft 7in without shoes and wanted a bar table high enough for a comfortable angle. It depends in part on what desk height you set it at, but it rises high enough for my keyboard to be comfortable for typing when lifted. It feels very stable and durable even at the highest altitude. I'm not worried about it tipping over if I bump it lightly. My only complaint is that when it's fully lowered, it's about 2+ inches higher than my desk. So I get some tension in my shoulders and neck when I raise my arms to type and use the mouse while sitting. Increasing the height of my chair doesn't completely fix this. So the ergonomics are better than sitting all the time, but not as good as a more expensive standing desk like the Varidesk or a motorized desk.
