At first I thought this product was a flop because the cartridges do not have the chip required by the HP printer that I used to recognize the cartridge and to function. When the ink cartridges arrived they came with no instructions and I just put them in the printer and they didn't work. However, after writing to the company, I learned that you need to take the chip off your old HP toner cartridge and put it in a new replacement cartridge. It's actually pretty easy to do. They will send you tweezers and clippers to help you remove the chip from an old HP cartridge. Once you do this, the cartridges will work and the print quality will be good enough. Most importantly, you save TONS of MONEY. The 4 cartridges I bought for just over $100 would cost over $1000 if I bought them as HP toners. about 7 times more. Yes, changing the chip is a bit of a hassle, and having to do it at night when you're busy and in a crisis is frustrating. But as long as you have time, you can save a lot. And I suspect it will be much easier to move the chip from the REPLACEABLE CARTRIDGE to another REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE once the ink from that cartridge position has run out. I love a good price and I think this TONER is a good deal if you are willing to do a little work to replace the chips.
