Review on 🖌️ GAOMON PD156 PRO Full-Laminated Screen Graphic Drawing Tablet - 8192 Pressure Sensitivity Levels, Battery-Free Stylus, 9 Shortcut Keys for Digital Art by Eric Weber

I have this tablet on sale in December 2020 for around $300 and it has been a good buy so far. This was my first dedicated tablet with a pen display, although I've worked with Wacom Bamboo and Intuos Pro M and can't tell any difference in terms of wand input, be it motion sensor or pressure sensitivity. I mainly compare it to these two tablets whose users made the leap from no-display graphics tablets to a drawing tablet with GAOMON pd156 Pro display. The display itself can be quite bright, especially in a dark room, although I'll probably have to play around with the hardware settings a bit more. The shortcut keys are an improvement over the Bamboo and Intuos Pro in my opinion, as they click very clearly without the annoying "half press" like the Wacom tablet's keys. Due to Wacom's touch sensitivity on their tablets' buttons, the pd156 PRO's buttons are strictly PRESSED/NOT PRESSED when in use, which I didn't think was necessary to praise, but it was a really disappointing feature not being able to disable the intuitive An extra shortcut button is also available, which is redundant at worst and very handy at best (the second extra button is reserved for tablet monitor settings). The Pd156 PRO also has a more intuitive radial wheel button, in my opinion, as it doesn't use touch sensitivity and instead opts for a simpler analogue circuit wheel. It works the same as the other buttons of the Charted Radial Wheel: press the inner button to view the adjustable functions -> rotate the wheel up or down to activate the function on each fractional rotation. There are currently only 3 configurable up/down function slots for the wheel button, technically 6 function slots in total. The stand is nice and made from durable materials but could be better as it only works as a stand. and board. I've seen other stands that are more complex and customizable, but if you're a stand lover, you probably bought a custom one anyway. It is unlikely to fail accidentally. As far as I know, the tablet is exclusively wired. The stylus is mostly inferior to the Wacom pens I've used. Its design is completely straight and cylindrical, which I don't have much of a problem with, but if you need an extra rubber pad or curved design for a more secure grip, you're out of luck. The stylus doesn't have an eraser, meaning you'll have to rely on your keyboard shortcuts or other custom action when you need quick access to the erase function. Most importantly, the pen pressure sensor sits a little farther in the pen than on the Wacom pens I've used, meaning the tilt movements and gripping methods have less freedom at tighter angles, which is especially important to me when I'm in In the drawing area, I'm tilting the pen to more acute angles and suddenly I realize that the cursor isn't coincident with the tip of the pen but is aligned with the spot inside the pen or even with the plastic of the pen. the pen touches the display. My suggestion would be to either push the pen seat forward somehow or make the pen seat longer or more protruding. Trust me, Wacom supports at least 5, which means the pd156 PRO natively only supports the quadratic formula for pen pressure via driver configuration, although this shouldn't be a problem as almost all drawing programs have built-in pressure sensitivity options. The driver has also been significantly updated several times since my purchase to improve stability and basically reduce any software issues. Customer service was prompt, friendly, and condescending. I had an error with my pen which kept drawing when I picked it up from the tablet, which the support rep told me was probably because I dropped the pen, which is what happened. Dropping the pen should have voided my warranty, but they were kind enough to send me another pen free of charge after I provided proof of the problem. For its $350 (15.6-inch) size, ease of use, comfort, customer service, and lack of major issues, I would definitely recommend it as a good display tablet, especially for beginners and intermediate users.
