. UPDATE: The company sent me an updated version of the wallet based on this review. . The padding is completely gone and now it looks much better with the brim folded down. It's hard to say, but it looks like real leather could be softer. This eliminates IMHO the biggest problem with the wallet. As far as the wallet was received it is still in fairly good condition. - The wallet has darkened with use. Almost like polished leather - The collar that holds the chain is still there and hasn't stretched like some other wallets I've used - The color of the chain is a bit worn but looks good. just a used look. The inner pocket behind the ID card holder has a slight tear on one side, but this does not affect the use of the wallet and is not visible in normal use. Find a leather chain wallet that doesn't have coin compartments (which I never use) or other weird flaps etc. ---------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW ---- --- - --------------Good wallet in terms of quality. The border around the edges is almost like padding that covers the different layers of the wallet. This coating starts to peel off very easily at the bends of the wallet. I went ahead and just filmed everything. The wallet still looks good without it. The wallet is quite stiff when new and has started to soften a bit. Also, the finish scratches/scuffs fairly easily (like many other leather wallets I've seen). I find this wallet overpriced for what you get but still not bad value for money. It's hard to find a wallet that doesn't have a zippered coin pocket that I never use.
