Our rat pups love it! Obviously, brushing a low score is easy, but only because it's wood. It absorbs pet urine, so if your animals use it as a toilet I would recommend covering it with some kind of cloth that you can replace when it gets too smelly. They also like to chew it, but rats are like that.
