The thing flies. It detaches and reattaches to the new case (at least once) as I had to do exactly that which is why the charging case broke and had to be replaced with a new one. There's a small "trail" but it doesn't matter, and I use it to hold my debit card, driver's license, and business card. no drama I've used it on my phone case daily for a month with no problems, the leather doesn't look worn or shabby. Firmly.
