I decided to purchase them as an economical choice for active use on a daily basis so that it would not be a waste of money if they were to become damaged or stop working sooner rather than later. After three to four years of service, they finally expired recently (one speaker became several times quieter than it should be). I would frequently bring my headphones with me and listen to music on occasion, but they would occasionally get soaked in the rain. Now that I'm comparing it to brand new Fishers that fall into around the same price range, I can say that the Philips seem to sound even softer and more pleasant, with less harsh noise and sand in the ears (perhaps because the Fishers haven't yet warmed up). The headphones, in general, are of a very high quality relative to the price bracket they fall into.
