Very happy I bought an electric lock that also works with the car's factory key. Super comfortable. I have a resealable tonneau lid that already has a separate key, so it's great that I don't need a *3.* unique key. Instructions were so-so, but a YouTube video and a few tips and tricks on TacomaWorld.com made installation easy (albeit time-consuming). Installed on a 2014 Tacoma TRD Off Road Crew Cab. I routed the cable along the existing factory rear camera wiring and connected it under the chassis. Crawled through the rubber bushing under the passenger door. The colors of the wires you connect are as described in the manual (blue wire with black stripe and blue wire with red/pink stripe).
