I wouldn't use it on a toddler unless you can make some modifications yourself. My husband and I put it back together, found it had a major flaw, then put it back in its packaging and asked for a refund. The mattress inside is crumpled in the middle, creating an uneven surface for the baby to sleep on. It wasn't just a small wrinkle, it was a big one. We believe in the health and well-being of the spine in both babies and adults, which is why we immediately noticed an uneven lying surface. I would not recommend this product to anyone unless they are okay with creating a new sleeping surface. This item is expensive to make additional purchases to make it "right" for the child.
