Not worth $70 good crib bedding

My 1 year old injured himself trying to get out of his crib while he was sleeping. He was bruised from falling off the edge and that seemed like the best course of action. As for storage in his bed, this works great. My only issues were 1) the zipper at one opening broke on the same day. Luckily there are several of these, so it was still usable. 2) Cleanliness. There's no good way to clean it up to bring it back to the bright, glossy white it appears. I can't put the net under the mattress so it's on top. He doesn't keep his blanket in place, so he sleeps right on top of the crisp white net. Over time it turned brown and dirty. I tried hand washing several times but nothing worked. Yesterday I tried a light rinse and spin in the washing machine and it was a big mistake. This is how the one in fig came about. It was my fault for trying, but I thought it was worth trying to get better. After taking it out of the washing machine before it had finished rinsing, I put the bathtub in and hosed it down to rinse away any remaining detergent I had used. (a mixture of morning dish soap and vinegar with some hydrogen peroxide and water) although I managed to get a decent amount of dirt out, it's still dirty and sloppy looking. If they intend to make it impossible to clean, I don't see why they would just make it brilliant white. I would have liked a different color that would not become uncomfortable after a few months of use.
