My husband and I installed it ourselves. It's pretty convenient, but you definitely need two people. The final part, screwing the cage onto the device, was extremely difficult and would have looked impressive had it not been for someone holding it while the other used a screwdriver. Up close, the quality seems poor. The crystals are held in place with flexible nails/pins and 2 crystals arrived broken and a few others were knocked out and had to be reattached. It comes with extra rectangular crystals as well as pins so I was able to fix it myself. It's just a bit annoying and painful when I try to put my hand in to fix it properly. The round crystals are mostly held on my golden flexible paperclips. It's okay, but it doesn't look good up close, and it's almost impossible to hang them at the same length. Would have liked stronger clips similar to jewelry hooks to hang at the same length. Also, the wires are exposed and not completely hidden. . I hope we get used to it. I can't hear it when the brightness is low. Turning the light off and on again resets the device and does not restore the previous settings. It always just turns on a bright white light with no fan. We don't really care, but it would be nice if you could set presets on the remote or something. With all my complaints, we were able to install in about an hour. He replaced the ugly, dusty ceiling fan with a single lightbulb that barely lit the room. This device is 100 times more attractive and brighter. Despite all my complaints, I still love it and would very much like to buy it again. One day I will buy another one for my bedroom!
