This is a solid solution for 8 month storage. alt I watch x2 weekly who is just learning to crawl. for those who have an open kitchen and no way to close it - this could be your solution too! I appreciate the ease with which this is assembled... Love that it can be installed and removed in minutes - it only needs to be done twice a week, I do it often! Carrying the whole thing...can be a bit awkward and heavy, but moving a few at a time makes me feel so much better! (Primarily because of the size and shape.) Surprisingly, each closed section is very light - almost too light. They are actually hollow plastic gates made from sections. somehow I felt like for the price it would have a bit more substance or integrity/weight to the individual parts, although so far I haven't had any issues. I'm thinking about the future when the little guy starts to stand up and put pressure on the section. I hope it holds up and doesn't fall over. My problem is I have travertine tiles and they are uneven at best! So the suction cups don't provide a firm grip on the floor to stay in place. So if you use carpeted floors or uneven tile floors, you should consider something. Suction would not be an option. In terms of connection and disassembly, they have pins that snap into place. and do the same thing in reverse to undo and put away. I recommend storing the storage box when not in use - this helps keep the parts clean and safe. It comes in 8 sections. x4 grey, x4 white and no hardware required. (male pins are built into each section) these are alternating colors so you get alternating male and female ends for each x1 pin and x1 socket and repeat! FYI hanging crib toys can be attached to the wall of the gate - I find this adds extra fun for babies when they are inside! It can also be a makeshift ball pit as it can contain balls in a restricted area. Note: Although the pictures show a swinging/open gate door. this is not. This is created by leaving the x1 section unpaved. While this can be useful when getting in and out of the car, it's not necessary if you can lift the child over the edge easily enough. (At 5ft 2 this hits me in the shin so know the height for reference!) Overall I'm glad to have this solution for a moving kid! I hope that's enough if it runs. It's easy to set up/take down and can be turned off in a quick minute. it's simple human labor x1. My reason for deducting 1 x 1 star was the higher price. However, it can be a wise investment if bought early in a family - it can be used when each child reaches that stage/stage. Then get $worth for sure.
