Review on 🛥️ Humminbird 7400931 MHX XNT Marine Transom Mounting Kit by Travis Petty

I bought two. One for now to replace the one that broke this week. One more thing for the future. Now I know why the original broke. This mount has a quick release feature in case you hit something with it. Well, the tabs, which are supposed to allow the transmitter to tip over if it hits something, hold onto the base so tightly that the base breaks. Found this today when installing. During the test portion of the installation you will need to attach the tabs to verify the correct position of the transmitter. I had to flip the transmitter to make adjustments. So the base is broken. It took a lot of force to make it tip over. I examined the protrusions on the transmitter part. They are so big that they would not allow the device to "just" tip over like I expected. So when I install the backup mount I've shortened the tabs a bit so the block is now easier to lift, but with enough tension it should hold the speed. Update from 04/23/2018: Replacement suggested. Since this product was out of stock, the money was refunded. You did not ask for the damaged item to be returned. The rating refers to the product, not the supplier. The provider gets 5 stars.
