This is a traditional ratchet strap with a lever release rather than the lifting buckle which I prefer. It works reliably when also less comfortable than lifting buckles.The material of the leather belt makes a good impression, as does the materials and workmanship of the clasp.I have two problems with this belt.First, the sharp end of the belt is under the tied end,which means that the bitter end is difficult to pull to tighten or control belt loosening This is a bit of a hassle for most, but becomes noticeably more difficult for the elderly or those with poor support, such as those with arthritis second issue is the sizing.The size range listed is for a 25"-39" waist measurement.I find the ratchet range to be way small it starts out as would fit a 39 inch waist. The buckle dips into the very end of the belt before the notches begin to render the belt functional, but such an arrangement will not be reliable. All in all, a decent belt, but by no means outstanding.
