I used this product on a Stone Coat epoxy project. I saw this product recommended as a top coat to prevent scratches. It sounded logical, and it also sounded like I was being sold a little to get another $50 from me. Sort of like a car dealership selling a "top coat" or a furniture company selling Scotch Guard for a sofa or something. My project looked AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, nice shine, like glass. This matte finish, which looks matte, hides much of the color contrast of the epoxy. Also, it imparts a non-smooth texture to the surface. The directions say to add some water, which I did - but no matter how much you add, the finish leaves a texture on the surface. If you expect a shiny smooth finish - DO NOT USE THIS. I'm trying to figure out how to get this off my countertop without ruining the epoxy finish I've worked so hard on. UPDATE: Wife and friends looked at the countertop and everyone agreed it looks cheap, like plastic laminate, and all the cool parts of the design are masked by the matte finish. I would also like to point out that this is not a matte finish - it is an epoxy finish that foams slightly to create a finish. Thus, it is an opaque finish that looks like a matte finish with a glossy finish. So the light bounces off of it, making it white and you can't see the pattern underneath. Also, the foaming caused the pattern - it's not smooth - when it cures there is a slight bump as the epoxy foams. The top coat is resistant to ALL solvents, so it had to be sanded. It's very hard to grind, so I had to use 80, 120, then 220 git. Then I had to reapply epoxy to bring the shine back. There was a layer of clear epoxy underneath so I didn't damage the design. BUT if you have painted epoxy just under the top coat, removing the top coat will destroy it.
