Review on Farbetter Professional Bicycle Hydraulic Mineral by Daniel Ogbebor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost there, but not quite!

The parts kit contained many items that I might never use on any other bike, but it was a pleasant surprise to find the correct threaded parts for my hydraulic brakes. The bike company claims they put Tektro brakes on this bike, but judging by the shape of the brake pads I removed, they are NOT made by Tektro or their upscale relative TRP. However, I couldn't use the funnel because the threads at the bottom of the funnel were too big for the outlet on my brake. I ended up using one of the yellow plastic bleed fittings (thankfully the kit included two correct size threaded fittings), a long hose and a bleed bottle from another kit to complete the service. Overall I'm happy with this kit as I was able to use MOST of the parts to service my hydraulic brake so 4 out of 5. Pros1. Lots of parts to match the correct threads on most hydraulic brake bleed holes2. Standard tool kit that fits most brake bleeder bolt heads and caliper bolts3. Instructions with good text-to-image conversion are consistent with other Cons1 language support. The included syringe looks sturdy and usable, but leaves a lot to be desired with its suction power. When attempting to draw 20ml of brake fluid into the syringe, it was only possible to draw about 5ml before the plunger was fully extended. By attaching the hose clamp and securing against leaks, the syringe was still able to move air/liquid back and forth through the hose.2. The funnel has threads that didn't match my brake bleed hole, making it unusable on my bike3. Does not contain brake fluid so bear this in mind when checking

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
