Review on Beckett 5780 Electrode Insulator Assembly by Michael Glassburn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Electrode set 5780 does a good job

I rebuilt my 12 year old Beckett AF-15 burner on my oil stove after starting and sticking problems. Among the parts that looked worse due to wear and tear were the electrodes. I found a reasonably priced replacement from Revain, got good shipping and they work great. No cheap versions, this is OEM quality and I expect them to last. Replacing the electrodes is not difficult, you just need to have the settings for your specific torch as they fit many different models. If you still have information about the factory label on your recorder, use that as your most reliable source. I also recommend you watch all the how-to videos on You Tube if you have no experience in this area. One final note: A good, strong spark is required, but the most common source of problems (other than air in the pump) is dirty oil depositing microscopic deposits in the fine channels within the torch tip. After cleaning everything (a light oven cleaner or strong sodium hydroxide-based cleaner will loosen coke, grime, and blackened dirt) and installing a second filter (1 in the tank, 1 just before the pump), I finally stopped clogging the nozzle tips - Good, because it was 18 degrees this morning. Good luck with your repair!
