Successful with 12 gauge wire (InstallGear 12 Gauge Speaker Wire - 99.9% Oxygen Free Copper - True Spec Soft Touch) Everyone complains that the screw won't go all the way in. and in their opinion this is correct. With a bit of manly muscle power and a good pair of pliers, it's not that difficult to get the screw back in a good enough place. however, doing so will likely damage the head of the screw(s). Despite this potential injury, the screw is now effectively and permanently in place and only the plastic cover remains to be fitted. Which in itself wasn't too difficult, you just have to put the cap on and on to the screw, which should now only leave a small projection at the end. without in any way affecting the operation or arrangement of the wires. So in the end these plugs worked very well. They are very economical, they look very good compared to ordinary standard wires. But the best part for me was the fact that after installation they helped me to eliminate the little noise I heard from the speakers when they were just wires (I'm not a sound expert so I'm not sure what that is was reason for it and why exactly it helped, but it did help.)
