For some reason this Transcend drive wouldn't work with my Mac. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the Mac to accept it for use as a Time Machine backup, so I just treated it like a giant USB drive and dragged all my files onto it. Not exactly what I intended to use the 1TB drive for. I don't know what the problem is. I have a Macbook Pro 13" 2016, a properly formatted Mac drive, and the Mac specifically told me I can't use it for Time Machine. I think I'll have to buy another Toshiba for that. Now I'm starting starting to think about my previous transcend cd, i have another one i bought to use as a time machine backup and it worked fine for a long time and then failed, i don't mean the hard drive failed is - the Mac no longer reads them as a Time Machine backup. I thought maybe it was because I added other files, but now I'm wondering if this isn't a ubiquitous problem with Macs and Transcend drives. Me wouldn't advise Mac users to buy this brand, Toshiba is pretty much the only brand I trust.
