Failed after a year due to corrosion.
Worked well for a year. Then he broke. The top of the stem and the threaded hole in the cap corroded until the threads loosened. The lid no longer stays open, making it almost unusable. This part of the mechanism, by design, is constantly in the presence of salt, so it's surprising they didn't use a more corrosion-resistant alloy.
