I recently adopted a cat and she developed an infected "hot spot" on her stomach which she kept licking. I had a cone, but she dodged him in seconds and clearly despised him. She can pee and poop without putting the costume on. The velcro closure made it easy to put on. She's an adult, about 9.5 pounds and about 14 inches from shoulder to tail, and tall fits her perfectly. The suit has high-quality double seams around the legs and an elastic collar in the neck. Legs are free for normal movement - this suit will not work if your cat has leg problems.
